Law Students and Alumni
HOW IT WORKS
Law School Connect makes it possible for law students to set up job interviews with law firms, legal non-profits, and judges throughout the country and internationally, using videoconferencing. Law School Connect provides the videoconferencing equipment, connectivity and membership to Law School Career Services Offices, generally at no cost to the law schools. Legal employers subscribe to the Law School Connect network through memberships or pay non-member access fees to conduct videoconference interviews with member school law students.
BENEFITS
- Provides opportunities to interview with law firms, nationwide and internationally, beyond those firms scheduled for OCI visits
- Allows for face to face clerkship interviews, without travel costs, because Judges have free access to the network for clerkship interviews
- Opens another option for interviews with Legal Non-profits because they have free access to many of the LSC law schools
- Gives legal employers another option for call-back interviews
- Accommodates employer or student scheduling conflicts for in-person interviews
- Eliminates costs and hassles associated with travel
- Reduces missed class time
- Lets students hone interviewing skills through mock interviews via videoconference
SCHEDULING AND USING LSC
If your law school is already a member of Law School Connect, include videoconferencing as an option in your resume cover letters and conversations with legal employers and contact your Career Services Office to schedule the videoconference interview. Or, inquire about membership for your law school. Alumni of Law School Connect member schools can also use the Law School Connect network for lateral interviews.
OPTIONAL LAW SCHOOL AND LAW STUDENT RATES
If a legal employer is not willing to pay the network access fee law schools and/or law students at member schools have the option to purchase service directly from Law School Connect at special per-interview rates. These special rates are not available for situations where the legal employer is reimbursing for expenses. Contact your Career Services Office for the special rates.
